On Wednesday 14 people visited Paraparaumu Scenic Reserve and climbed to the Papakirae trig. A great day. The Medium Saturday trip went from Catchpool up a spur from the Orongorongo River to Topokopoko. The route along the top ridge to the summit followed a muddy pig track. The views of the valley and Wellington were spectacular. A long day for 9 members. On Sunday the trip went from Catchpool up Butcher and along Cattle Ridge, then down Browns track to the Orongorongo river. A good day for 9 members and 5 non members. It was rather windy on the south coast for the Family preschool group, but they played on the beach, paddled and looked for crabs. 3 adults, 6 children |
