On Wednesday the BusBootsBus trip around Khandallah Domain was a leisurely, enjoyable trip. 12 members, 1 non member The other Wednesday trip went along a good farm track from the top of Butcher south, for a good tramp in great weather. 15 members, 2 non members The Medium/Fit trip had unfavourable weather and other doubts which caused a continual shifting of goal posts so that the party finally ended up in Oreore Stream rather than on top of Mount Orongorongo. Furthermore they were back at the roadend before 4 pm. The leader fully deserved his four wasp stings as punishment for such a sin. Four members, one non-member Peggy Munn took a group of five members and one non member up Manganui Peak on the other Saturday trip. On Sunday the Belmont traverse turned into a tramp up to Belmont Trig where the group was nearly blown away in the mist, so plans changed and lunch was had in comfort at the Stratton Street complex before a return to Petone via a track up to Oakleigh Street and Korokoro tracks. 9 members Bushcraft 3 saw the candidates and their mentors take to the bush around Holdsworth over the weekend. All returned safely, having used their navigation skills and made good decisions. 5 mentors, 13 graduates. 68 people enjoyed trips this week |
