Tramping Reports Wednesday 2007 May 9 to Tuesday 2007 May 15The Wednesday ramble through Otari had 15 members and 2 non-members. They had agreat time with the highlight being the 'Bird Catcher' tree. Five members on the weekend medium trip visited Washpool hut via the Pinnacles and Surf. They enjoyed an old fashioned trampers stew and a good nights sleep. The weather was perfect. The Saturday medium trip started with 9 members plus another who insisted that she was not part of the official trip. Two went their own way at Dobson leaving a medium/fit party to race along between numerous morning and afternoon tea stops. Interesting country. Two wasp stings reminded them that the weather is still mild for the time of year. The family trip into the Wainuiomata water catchment had 27 members and 3 non-members for a great day which included a trip into the pipe tunnel to look at the glow worms The Sunday easy trip again visited the East Harbour Regional Park. There were 10 members and 3 non-members to enjoy the mild sunny weather. Total 66 members and 8 non members |
