Tramping Reports Wednesday 2007 May 23 to Tuesday 2007 May 29The Wednesday E/M trip to Scholl Creek - Mt Mckerrow had 7 members. They experienced lots of wind, so much that the ground heaved around them at lunch. On the same day the BBB trip from Houghton Bay to Island Bay had 8 members. The weekend E/M trip to Tutuwai hut (carried over from the previous weekend)had 4 members and 1 non-member. There was plenty of sun but not where they were in the bottom of the valley.They crossed paths with a few parties of TTC members. The weekend trip to Neil Forks was postponed. The Saturday medium trip to Smith Creek - Pylon Rd started as two separate parties owing to confusion over start times but soon linked up to be 8 members and 1 non-member. The Saturday M/F trip was also in the Tauherenikau valley and went up Block XVI. There was 2 members. They report that the old track up valley on the true-right is now quite overgrown beyond the new bridge and difficult to follow in places. The Sunday E/M trip to Clay Ridge - Mckerrow had 12 members and 2 non-members for a fabulous day. Total 41 members and 4 non members |
