Tramping Reports Wednesday 2007 Aug 1 to Tuesday 2007 Aug 7The 3 members on the Wednesday M trip to Kapakapanui had to change plans owing to swollen Ngatiawa River and did the Mangaone Walkway instead. They managed to keep fairly dry. The Wednesday E trip to Cannon Point had 8 members and generally kept dry. The ski weekend at the lodge was fairly full with 29 people. Good skiing Saturday am but otherwise inclement weather made for a very social weekend. The Saturday M trip had 10 members and 1 non-member The Sunday E/M Stokes Valley circuit had 4 members. The track was 'closed' for tree clearing so they had to do some off-track. Slippery conditions, great views of the South Island Mountains. The 8 members on the family cycle ride down Long Gully also report great views of the SI. They were 6 cyclists and 2 walkers. The Family trip to Battle Hill was cancelled due to no takers and food poisoning of the leader. Total of 62 members and 1 non-member. |
