Tramping Reports Wednesday 2007 Sept 5 to Tuesday 2007 Sept 11The Wednesday M trip switched to Waterfall Rd near Paraparaumu in order to avoid a nasty southerly. There were 5 members. The Wednesday E trip gritted their teeth and walked into the southerly on the Southern Walkway. There were 7 members and 1 non-member. There were 12 members and 20 non-members at the lodge in the week for the Primary School ski champs. They had some brilliant weather. The lodge was also full ovewr the weekend with 23 members and 7 non-members for the Interclub Ski races. The TTC women came 2nd overall with Cheri Marshall being the 3rd fastest woman. The men came 4th and TTC came 3rd overall.Good to see the interclub ski sports resume after a lapse of 10 years. The weekend MTB trip to Ohakune has been postponed until October. The Saturday M had 6 members for a windy and cool trip to Dobson, Phillips strm – Farm Crk loop. The Saturday M/F trip had 4 members. They used a legal access through Regional Council plantation forest to get onto the Rimutaka Range south of Mt Climie No 2 and explored some new country. Wind was strong and cold. The Sunday E/M had 7 members for the McKerrow – Clay Ridge trip and found it cold on top. Total 64 members and 28 non members |
