The Saturday M/F party comprising three club members completed a nine hour almost kiekie-free circuit from Holdsworth that included the waterfall on Fall Creek and an unorthodox descent from Pinnacle. A replacement Saturday trip took seven members up Tane’s Track from Tunnel Gully then east, and descending steeply to pine plantations and the Rimutaka Incline for the long road walk back. On Sunday 14 members braved the forecasted weather conditions to visit Terawhiti Station for the last time before it is closed for wind farm construction. In fact they had a good day and didn’t get blown away. Skiing at Whakapapa was wonderful on Tuesday, but the rain on Wednesday and Thursday washed away the snow. However it snowed on Friday night, and Saturday was a sunny day and great for skiing. All those who listened to the forecast and dropped out really missed out! 15 skiers |
