The Wednesday Medium trip took 5 members to Mitre Flats, returning via the Waingawa River. Light cloud took the sparkle out of the river, but the walk back was as always delightful, and no one had to swim. Ten members enjoyed the Wednesday BBB trip from Mt Albert to the Zoo. Also on Wednesday, four members cycled from Totara Park up to Karapoti and return for a most enjoyable day. The Saturday M/F trip took 6 members up the Snowy accompanied by 2 members of HVTC on their way to Elder hut. They joined us as we went in search of the elusive Snowy river hut. We overshot the hut but found it on the way back and then climbed Elder spur before turning for home. Came back through the lower Snowy gorge, which involved one short swim. A Cycle trip to Baring Head introduced eight potential members to the Club. They were accompanied by two club members (one aged 80). A good day. The Easy trip on Sunday went up the Mangaone Walkway, with lunch by the river. Three members, three non members |
