The Work Party at Waerenga Hut dropped one more tree and took iron off the chimney. 20 members, 3 non members The overnight trip found Cow Creek hut delightful and enjoyed their walk in through the beautiful bush. They came out via Cow saddle, Cleft Creek and the Ruamahunga, which involved a car shuttle. 5 members Three members on the M/F trip went up the spur behind Waerenga Hut and along the top to Tapokopoko, then down Paua Spur. The Saturday medium trip had lunch on top of Bull Hill in the northern Haurangis. The route was varied, starting with a logging road, then through pine trees before hitting a DoC track leading to the top. They came out over farmland, in a bitingly cold southerly rain storm. 8 members, 3 non members The new Sunday afternoon trip took the ferry across to Days Bay, then walked the ridge above the bay before catching the 4.15 pm ferry back to Wellington. 4 members, 1 non member The Family group had a great day tubing the Taherenikau on Sunday, in good water levels. 15 members, 6 non members |
