Tramping Reports Wednesday 2008 Apr 23 to Tuesday 2008 Apr 29The Wednesday Wakanui - Catchpool trip had 9 members and 2 non members for a perfect day. The long weekend trip to Kime - McIntosh - Pakihore Ridge - Penn Ck had perfect conditions. There was 4 members and 2 non-members. They report that the Pakihore Ridge track has just been cut and disked. Also report that Doc are putting a few poles above the bushline. The 7 members and 1 non-member on the weekend lodge trip to Hamner Springs had perfect weather. They visited the Lewis Tops and climbed Mt Isabelle behind Hamner. The autumn colours are spectacular. 9 cyclists spent the weekend in the northeastern Wairarapa. They cycled to Akitio but had one casualty from a spill off the bike. The Waerenga work party had numbers ranging from 30 to 3 at various times over the weekend. Work done includes the deck, woodshed supports, toilet hole, fireplace, end wall, lawn and gardens. Other weekend trips were cancelled owing too lack of interest. The Sunday day trip to Colonial Knob only had 2 members. Those who didn't go missed out on lollies and wild mushrooms. A total of 61 members aand 5 non-members. |
