Welcome to the webteam. The webteam is a group of club members who assist with updating the website's content and with technical updates and issues. The webteam supports a number of other club members who update the website and produce content for the website.

On these pages you will find an always evolving mixture of information about the TTC website, and how we maintain it. See the links above or to the right and browse away.

Web team technology

A few notes from the back end.

  • ttc.org.nz is hosted by Wellington Community Network Trust
    • this is a fantastic free service and we have an obligation to display their logos and link on our home page. Because we like the service so much we provide an attribution on every page.
  • wcn.net.nz runs an Apache HTTPD server
  • PHP provides the server side scripting language for the wiki
    • until we can replace them some scripts are still written in Perl (for one legacy script (club nights))
  • original pages are saved by the wiki, see the Recent Changes link on every page or Site. All Recent Changes
    • the history of each page is available through the history link, changes can be viewed and if necessary previous versions restored
  • all file names should be completely lower case
    • the WCN server is Debian based and case sensitive, all lower case names just makes it so much easier (note this doesn't apply to wiki page names, and not always to files uploaded (attached) using the wiki).
