On these pages you will find an always evolving mixture of information about the TTC website,
and how we maintain it.

Note at the moment I am experimenting with the skin, hence the lines and odd layout. Normal service will resume sometime ! ... Simon

A few notes from the back end.
- ttc.org.nz is hosted by Wellington Community Network
- this is a fantastic free service and we have an obligation to display their logos and link on our home page. Because we like the service so much we provide an attribution on every page.
- wcn.net.nz runs an Apache HTTPD server
- PHP provides the server side scripting language
- until we can replace them some scripts are still written in Perl
- original pages are saved by the wiki, see the Recent Changes link on every page
- the history of each page is available through the history link, changes can be viewed and if necessary previous versions restored
- all file names should be completely lower case
- the WCN server is Debian based and case sensitive, all lower case names just makes it so much easier (note this doesn't apply to wiki page names, and not always to files uploaded (attached) using the wiki).
- HTML pages are deprecated, but the guidelines we have for the remaining ones are
- HTML file extensions are .html, as are most server side include file extensions
- all HTML elements and attributes are written in lower case. Attribute values may be case sensitive.
- all CSS property, descriptor, and pseudo-class names are written in lower case, see TTC CSS examples and usage.
