Search for a Trip Report ...
Search for trip reports containing specific words or parts of words. The search will find all reports that contain one or more of the words you enter.
More Sophisticated Searches
To search for a group of words, place them in quotation marks. For example: "neill forks"
Placing a +
in front of a word means that ALL reports found must include that
word.
Placing a - in front
of a word means that NO reports found must include that word.
For example: holdsworth "jumbo
hut" +1998 -kaitoke will search for all reports that include
references to 1998 and either holdsworth or jumbo hut. Any reports
referring to kaitoke will be excluded from the search.
Furthermore, you can use these special characters to define your search more precisely:
. matches any single character
\s matches any white space character (space, new line etc.)
\d matches any digit (0 - 9)
\b matches a word boundary
? matches the preceding character zero or one time
* matches the preceding character zero or more times
+ matches the preceding character one or more times
Examples:
penn?\screek or "penn? creek" will match Pen Creek, Penn Creek, open creek, open creeks, etc..
\bpe.*creek will match Penn Creek, Pearl Creek, penthouse with a creek, etc. However, it will not match open creek because there is no word boundary immediately to the left of the p.
