Tararua Tramping Club - Club Nights
Tuesday is our regular club night. Meetings are held in our clubrooms in Moncrieff Street, off Elizabeth Street, off Kent Terrace.
We welcome new faces at our meetings, and there are always club members available to provide newcomers with information and any answer questions they may have.

| 8 July | Mana Island
Grant Timlin, DOC Ranger from Mana Island and a club member, will up-date us on the activites and programmes planned for the Island. |
| 15 July | Quiz Night
Categories include: Geography/weather, TTC history, NZ, all sorts .... Come and put your grey matter to the test! Teams allocated at door. Supper and notices at usual time followed by quiz. BYO drinks, nibbles provided, small prizes. Contact Mary Kane 973 2254. |
| 22 July | Antarctic paintings, a different take! ( Look! no seals penguins or icebergs)
Margaret Elliot has been to the Antarctic three times. First as part of the Artists to Antarctica Programme in 1998 when she went to the ice with author, Margaret Mahy and subsequently in 2000 and 2001 as a tutor with the "Graduate certificate in Antarctic Studies" which involved 7 days camping at windless Bight near Scott Base. |

Diana Barnes will show you that Western Australia is not a desert but alive with beautiful flowers. Come along and see stunning photos of her recent trip walking and exploring the flora and fauna. |

Unique ancient cities, dramatic rock art, giant sand seas – and a warm welcome! Sheena and Stuart Hudson will talk and show slides about their recent visit. |
| 12 August | History of Early Mountain Pioneers
Graham Langston is New Zealand's foremost mountaineering historian. If you don't know anything about the beginning of climbing in NZ, 1890 - 1914, here is your chance to hear about early pioneering climbers like Jack Clarke and others. |

| 26 August | A Backcountry Hunting Perspective
Trampers often meet hunters in the backcountry of New Zealand, and Richard Hall has appeared as both when heading off into the hills during his 30 years as a South Island tramper/hunter. Richard has made a series of 10 minute videos that depict the spirit, passion, camaraderie and realities of being a contemporary New Zealand hunter on public lands. He made the videos with the aim of sharing his experiences with a general audience. |
