Photo competition
Tuesday 11 September 2007
It's time to start looking out these slides, prints and digital photographs.
There are three subject categories:
- Alpine / landscape
- People / humour / club activities
- Natural history
Each subject category is divided into a print section, and a slide / digital photographs section, making a total of 6 sections. You may make three entries in each category. The minimum size for prints is 5" by 7" (13 by 18 cm). Smaller prints will be disqualified.
Prints should all be mounted on cardboard so that they can be pinned up. Images which have been entered into previous TTC photo competitions are not allowed. All entries must be labelled with name, title of the image and the subject category.
The closing date for entries is Tuesday 4 September.
Since the club has a digital projector we are encouraging entries of digital photographs recorded on CDs.
Digital Photos should be in jpeg or tiff file format. Jpegs can be attached to e-mails and this is the easiest way to get them to me at ttc-photocompetition@ttc.org.nz. They will be included in the slide sections.
There are some detailed rules for CD presentation available on the club noticeboard or from Rob Vanderpoel -> mailto:ttc [period] photo [period] competition [snail] ttc [period] org [period] nz?Subject=Query from TTC website&Subject=Photo Competition on 021 455 873 or Alan Knowles -> mailto:ttc [period] photo [period] competition [snail] ttc [period] org [period] nz?Subject=Query from TTC website&Subject=Photo Competition on 027 459 3999. Please follow the rules or we might not be able to project! This is your chance to find out how good your images are, and some hints for taking better ones. So look out these photos now.
The cost of getting prints made from negatives or slides is not high, eg a 6" by 8" print costs around $ 7 from Wellington Photographic Supplies, and you can hang it on your wall permanently! We have not yet decided on prizes or trophies, although the glory and prestige of a win is probably enough for most of us.
