Lasagna
375g packet instant flat sheet lasagna 1 Tblspn oil 2 onions 2 cloves garlic (optional) 900g lean mince small tomato paste (or powder tomato soup) 2 400g tinned tomatoes herbs to taste (eg basil, mixed, thyme, rosemary) 750g grated cheese 1 cup water or red wine
- sauté onions and garlic and put aside
- brown mince
- add onions to mince with herbs, tomatoes, tomato paste and water
- simmer for 20 minutes
- preheat oven to 200°
- grease oven tray lightly
- place ¾ cup meat sauce into the tray
- add a layer of ½ lasagna sheets
- sprinkle with a ⅓ of the cheese
- add another layer of the meat sauce
- cover with the remainder of the lasanga sheets
- sprinkle with the rest of the cheese
- reduce the oven temperature to 150°C
- bake for 30 minutes
- raise oven temperature to 180°C and bake for a further 10 minutes
Serve with green salad
