We are aware of an infestation of large ants on the track between Cattle Ridge and Roaring Stag huts. The infestation is 560 m from Cattle Ridge Hut at 850-900 m altitude.

There’s a possibility they are Argentine ants. To avoid the risk of ant bites or spreading this pest species further, do not stop to rest or put your pack down in this area.
