Tramping Reports Wednesday 2010 Sep 15 to Tuesday 2010 Sep 21
Wednesday: Kerry and Bruce Popplewell ran a trip to Orongorongo Valley. In perfect tramping weather 9 members went over the Orongorongo Track and along the Big Bend Track inspecting the private huts along the way. After lunch at the new Haurangi Hut, 6 members set off over the Whakanui Track while the other 3 returned to the Catchpool to drive the cars round to Sunny Grove. (E)
Lynne Pomare led a trip to Graces Stream Forks, McKerrow. Good trip completed by 8 members, as planned, in good weather.
Saturday:
Diane Head led half the planned Cattle Ridge-McKerrow Ridge-Clay Ridge trip. 2 members wary of a bad forecast completed half the planned trip - Cattle Ridge and Orongorongo Track - for an enjoyable walk without rain. (M)
On Colin Cook's M/F trip on Sunday, five members traversed Puketaha and descended off track to Huia Forks. A good day in new country with a challenging dismount to the Huia Streams

Kate Williams led a weekend trip to Matiu-Soames Island. Wx was pretty good and they had lots of fun. 9 adults, 9 children; 1 non-member.
