Tramping Reports Wednesday 2011 Aug 24 to Tuesday 2011 Aug 30
Wednesday:
Jenny Lewis led an E/M walk to Woburn – Lowry – Lees Grove. A very pleasant sunny trip, some evidence of snow damage to the bush from last week's storm. 10 members.
Jean Chapman led a BBB up through Trelissick Park and the Botanic Gardens, and taking in coffee at the Wadestown Cafe. A beautiful day. 5 members, 1 pending member.
Bob Stephens led a walk in the Makara Peaks area, with 14 members and 4 non-members. A successful walk of 6.5 hours. (M)
Ski / Weekend:
Damien Georghiu led the ski weekend at Tararua Lodge. 29-30 people attended. Great weather; "Awesome".
Saturday:
Neil Challands led a walk (M/F): Seven members had a fine day for a loop from Mt Dick into the Kaipaitangata stream. A jumble of good going, so-so going and some unpleasant stuff. Another old campsite discovered.
Sunday:
Marg Conal's bike trip did not run, due to the leader's injury.
Adrienne Vermeulen led a walk to the Butcher Track... no report.
