Wednesday

Colin Cooke ran a trip off track to Nikau Ck and then up and over and down to the Wakanui waterfall whwwere they had a chilly lunch as the southerly established itself. A cold trip back to the road end followed, with 4 members.

Peggy Munn led the medium trip despite the weather forecast. They started at Paekakariki end of Queen Elizabeth II Park and took the coastal track north, veering to the American Camp site which was very interesting. Then throuh McKays crossing to Whsreroa farm. From there they did a loop track up to Campbell's Mill road and back doewn the southern most track, returnung along the Queen Elizabth ii Park cyclway, heads fown into a cold southerly with rain. Five hours 40 minutes and a really good day out after Covid-Level 3 lockdown, with 7 members.

Hadley Bondled the Easy Trip Report to Bothamley Park and beyond. With the Covid 19 alert level being lowered to Level 2 delta two days before, a group of six masked persons set off from the Bothamley Park carpark (looking rather like bank robbers) to traverse the length of Bothamley Park and take in the Waihora Track. The timing of the trip was planned to get it in before the proposed closure of Bothamley Park for utilities replacement but the leader forgot until the day before the trip about the lambing season! So there was some expectation that, since part of the Waihora Track crosses a portion of the Belmont Regional Park working farm, we would have to turn back. On arrival at the farm gate we found the track to be open which allowed us to complete the trip as well as inspect the progress of the Transmission Gully project. The Waihora track Brought us down to the Cannon’s Creek Lakes for lunch. It was then a longish walk across Cannon’s Creek Park to Bothamley Park and the cars. Weather wise, the day was forecast to be terrible but turned out to be rather pleasant, with 6 members.

Sunday

Korbus and Barry Durrant inspected Waerenga Hut to help with planning for its November workparty
