There are lots of fun spurs that run up to Cattle Ridge and down to the Orongorongo river. Janette and I went up two and down two in July. Three of the spurs are relatively clear of scrub, while the fourth, leading from the river side to .444, has a clear footpad that goes through an area of kiekie and passes what was clearly an area of marijuana plants, though there are none left now. The four spurs took us five and a half hours, and there was a short walk back to the carpark. These spurs provide an opportunity to do a medium off-track exploration without getting wet feet. Perfect for a winter's day outing. See trace. (TF)
