R around the zoo led by Margaret Foden . 2M

Nobody turned up at the bus stop but Barbara Ogilvie & l took the bus to the zoo, sat in the delightful old painted shelter for a snack and got the same bus back to town. At least it got us out of the house! I will schedule the trip again later in the year.

Easy City to sea walkway led by Jean Morgan. 6M

Six intrepid/crazy members set off in a light drizzle to walk the City and Sea but the slight drizzle turned into drenching rain so a halt was called at Aro St. where a pleasant cafe was found. Perhaps next summer we will try again.

M Mt Victoria-Mt Albert-Hawkins Hill aka Bob's 5 Wellington Peaks led by Andy Leslie. 8M

A party of 8 ascended Mt Victoria via Hay St, proceeding to Mt Alfred and the Karitane Trails to Mt Albert. We foraged mushrooms on a deserted Mornington Golf Course. In worsening weather conditions, we had an early lunch in the shelter of the soccer Referee's Room at Wakefield Park, returning via the City-to-Sea walkway. The pragmatic decision was made at the Omāroro (Bell Rd) Reservoir to bus from Mt Cook. 5 hours.

Cleanup at Akatarawa Saddle led by Franz Hubman. 13M

13 club members did a 2- hour rubbish cleanup at Akatarawa Saddle this morning. Retrieved about 50 tyres and a large pile of rubbish from down the bank. Kapiti Council sent some trucks to collect the results. All finished before the rain arrived!
