Clicking on email links, say in the Contacts page, should open your chosen email client.
If the email links do not work it is not a problem with the TTC website, it is a configuration problem in your brower oo OS.
The following steps may help.
Configuring "mailto:" Links on Windows and macOS
OS-Level Configuration
Windows 11
- Go to Settings → Apps → Default apps
- Scroll down and select Choose defaults by link type
- Find MAILTO and set it to your preferred email program (Outlook, Thunderbird, or a browser such as Edge or Chrome)
macOS (Ventura, Sonoma, etc.)
- Open the built-in Mail app
- Go to Mail → Settings (Preferences) → General
- Change Default email reader to your preferred app (Outlook, Thunderbird, or browser)
Browser-Level Configuration
Google Chrome
- Open Gmail in Chrome
- Look for the protocol handler icon (two diamonds) in the address bar
- Allow Gmail (or another service) to handle all mailto links
- Or go to Settings → Privacy and security → Site settings → Handlers and enable Gmail
Mozilla Firefox
- Go to Settings → Applications
- Search for mailto
- Choose Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Outlook, or another app as the handler
Microsoft Edge
- Open Gmail or Outlook Web in Edge
- When prompted, allow the site to handle mailto links
- You can also configure via edge://settings/handlers
Safari (macOS)
- Safari uses the system default mail client
- To change, adjust via Mail → Preferences → Default email reader
